Dr. Peter Gioia, AuD
Dr. Peter Gioia, AuD, has been a practicing Audiologist for over 16 years, proudly serving residents of Long Island with all their hearing needs. He graduated from Hofstra University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and a Master’s Degree in Audiology. Dr. Peter then earned the degree of Doctor of Audiology from the University of Florida. He is a fellow of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology and the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association where he holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence. He has a NYS License in Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensing.
He was determined to become an Audiologist and bring mobile hearing services to patients in the comfort of their homes after witnessing firsthand how the lack of this service negatively affected his grandmother. Being an avid hearing aid user for many years, when traveling to her audiologist became more challenging, she eventually stopped using them. Without proper care and maintenance, hearing devices won’t function very well. As a result, the normally energetic, social woman began to withdraw from her family and friends, because she could no longer engage in meaningful conversations with them.
Fortunately, with lots of family assistance, we were able to have her hearing aids serviced and the social woman who loved playing mahjong with her friends returned. With so many people facing similar circumstances, the need for mobile hearing care has never been greater.
